Tourist is the classically trained producer William Phillips. Signed to Disclosure’s label Method Records, he released ‘Patterns’ EP in 2014, self-produced and featuring the track ‘Stay’.

On his first American tour last year he did showcases with Pigeons & Planes and Pitchfork, as well as visiting Chicago, Miami, San Francisco, Denver and Los Angeles’ HARD Festival.

His remixes of Chvrches ‘Lies’, Haim ‘The Wire’ and Sam Smith ‘Safe With Me’ all reached No. 1 spots in the Hype Machine charts.

Praise for the release ‘Together’ comes from NPR, who said the track “will keep dancefloors on both sides of the Atlantic buzzing about this emerging producer-to-watch”, …

… whilst Pitchfork proclaimed it “a bold departure… taking stylistic cues from the skyscraping synths of mid-2000s electro house and the rhythmic chug of ’80s hi-NRG Italo disco, blended together with expert craftsmanship.”

Tourist is celebrating his very first Grammy ‘Song of the Year’ 2015 win after co-writing Sam Smith’s multi-award winning ‘Stay With Me’ alongside James Napier.
