Known for his many collaborations with other DJs and musicians such as David Guetta and Jean-Michel Jarre, he moderates a weekly radio show on Radio FG that plays a new mix (Zemixx) each week to its listeners before making it available on his Podcast.
He is also the co-founder of various labels including Gum Prod, Prod public garden and Gum Records.
His mixes are a mixture of traditional DJ and then he remixes live directly onto CD. Certain sounds which he employs had never been heard in house music before.
Joachim is known for his energetic sets, using images to go with his sounds, as well as the keyboard, and for his setting in scene.
After having perfected his piano and percussion for seven years at the conservatory, he decided to move toward electronic music. He started as a DJ at The Boy, the Parisian club that first initiated the discovery of the techno phenomenon in France.
He then successfully tried some music production with Maxximum radio station, number one national 100% dance radio station (CTL group).
Becoming the pioneer of numerical music, he created his own recording studio in the middle of Paris, which allowed him to remix, compose or produce artists such as David Guetta, Jean-Michel Jarre, Paul Johnson, Deep Dish,David Bowie, OMD, Kylie Minogue, Mylène Farmer, Cassius, Cerrone, Moby, Robbie Rivera and many more.
Today, he is surrounded by a big community with the Space Invader mascot.
1989: DJ at The Boy in Paris, and on Maxximum radio station.
1991: First rave in Moscow, the Youri Gagarine Party, which brought 300 000 people together.
1993 – 1997: Manchester Techno Festival, Berlin. DJ at The QUEEN (Paris).
1999: DJ in front of an emormous TV audience of 2.4 billion viewers, on December 31, live from the Cairo pyramids. He also produced the sound for Jean-Michel Jarre’s performance and album, “Metamorphoses”.
2000: Creation of the GUMPROD label, in association with David Guetta.
2001: Co-writer and co-producer of David Guetta’s album, “Just a little more love”: 200.000 copies sold in France, and also of the single “Love don’t let me go”, #1 of the top club tracks during 12 weeks, with 500.000 discs sold in France for that single.
2003: Remixes for Kylie Minogue, OMD, Cassius, Cerrone and production the album Geyster (I love 1984), of the single “Money” by David Guetta and of the album “Guetta Blaster 2004”.
2004: Release of “People”, a movie with over 1 hour of music co-composed and produced by Joachim Garraud. Production of Jean-Michel Jarre’s “AERO”, first album mixed in 5/1. Release of “The World is Mine”: Joachim Garraud co-wrote and produced this track with David Guetta. Beginning of the collaboration with Pioneer Japan for the development of new machines.
2005: Creation of the “F*** Me I’m Famous records” label with David Guetta. Remix of “Fuck them All”, a single by Mylène Farmer. 10-day DJ Tour in China and Japan. Release of “Summer Moon”, in collaboration with Tim Deluxe, Bob Sinclar and David Guetta.
Remixes for Moby, Robbie Rivera, Culture Club, Cerrone, Eurythmics. Double “Golden Disc” in France for the Guetta Blaster album, which sold over 200.000 copies.
2006: Joachim Garraud and David Guetta were nominated at the Grammy Awards as composers of the best remix of the year. Joachim Garraud’s Zemixx and Live Video podcasts got ranked1rst and 2nd on the iTunes Music Store France Podcast Chart. He was the only French DJ who performed at the Love Parade in Berlin, in front of over 1 million people.
2007: Joachim was the main host of the Technoparade in Paris, which broke the record of attendance. He was the only DJ to have his own float, which allowed him to invite Oliver Huntemann, Laidback Luke, Benni Benassi, Dj Sender and David Guetta. The forum Joachimgarraud.com is the most visited in the Electronic Music category, with 300.000 unique visitors per month.
Signed his maxi, “Street’s Sound”, at Joia Records (Label of the Swedish House Mafia). Won the 2007 Night Trophy, as Best French DJ. Chosen as Best Electro DJ of the year in October, at the Burn FG DJ Awards.

2009: January : Best French Producer and DJ 2008, Only For Dj’s Magazine. First major tour on the American continent with shows in Toronto, Miami, Washington DC, NYC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, etc. Release of the Space Party compilation, Ze Beat Galactic (a CD mixed by Joachim with 2 CDs with exclusive mixes) The renowned English label Toolroom Knights puts its trust in Joachim and offers him the chance to select and mix his last compilation.

2011: In early 2011, Joachim made the cover of DJmag Mexico, the specialized magazine in electronic music and DJs. He signed a partnership with Serato as part of his Live shows improvisation was thanks to the technology Scratch Live & Video SL. “We are the future”, the first clip from the new abum of Joachim Garraud “Invasion 2011 was shot over two nights (in Dijon and Paris) in which the Space Invaders were invited to come with panels representing the phrases of the chorus. March 18, the Invasion 2011 marathon begins with the official party premiere of the album “Invasion 2011” at Queen in Paris, and then Marseille.
March 21 was held the official release of the new album by Joachim on any sales platforms. It contains 15 tracks including the singles “We Are the Future” and “Stop”. The Invasion Box 2011, released in late December 2010, is already generating nearly 4000 sales in 15 countries since mid-March 2011. Late March 2011, Joachim was on tour in Miami.
Then came a series of shows and interviews at the Ultra Music Festival followed by many others live shows as: DJ Mag Party @ Shelborne Pool, Juicy @ Nikki Beach, Radio FG Party… Joachim participated in several festivals and played in front of tens of thousands of clubbers: United States, South America and Eastern Europe at prestigious festivals such as Lolapalooza in Chile and Chicago, Coachella in California, Exit Festival in Serbia or Electric Zoo Festival in New York.
At his side, DJs such as Armin Van Buuren, Richie Hawtin, Skrillex, Loco Dice, Dirty South, Carl Cox, Steve Aoki, Deadmau5, Fedde Le Grand, or artists such as Portishead and Jamiroquai. On June 3, 2011, the number 300 of the weekly show Zemixx is programmed. A huge party celebrated the 300th issue of the program Zemixx. This party took place at the Parc des Expositions in Caen and was broadcast live on FG DJ Radio from midnight to 4 am.
In May 2011 the festival Inox was held at Toulouse and attracted thousands of clubbers from all over France. New musical productions were released on June 2011. For his new compilation “Ibiza 2011”, the label Toolroom Records once again trusted Joachim Garraud including an exclusive song: “Dark Signal”. Both songs BANG BANG & EVERYBODY IN THE PLACE, sample tracks from Joachim Garraud Invasion 2011, were released at the same time. Many remixes of those two tracks were released too.
On September 10, 2011, Inox Park took place at Chatou, near Paris. This festival was held during 12h in the open air with a program of DJs such as Tiësto, Sven Vath, Axwell, Avicii, Steve Aoki, Joachim Garraud, Skrillex, Marco Carolla, Magda, etc. … In October 2011, Joachim Garraud signs with Pascal Lemaire aka “Skalp” the music of the new advertising campaign for “Numéricable”.
Late 2011, Joachim Garraud spots Alesia, three Parisian friends inspired by Noisia, Knife Party, Wolfgang Gartner, and Mortorhead and proposes to them to create a common project in the form of an album (Hillside West) for Dim Mak, the famous North American indie label owned by Steve Aoki. At the same time, while on U.S. tour late 2011 / early 2012, Joachim visits prestigious clubs in New York, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Los Angeles.
The year 2011 saw Joachim Garraud performing in more than 135 concerts and participate in the biggest festivals like Coachella, Electric Zoo, Exit Festival, Inox Park, Lolapalooza and Tomorrowland.
2012: The track “My Boyfriend is A Robot” is released as a single and comes with 11 remixes for DJs who love girls who like robots. The video clip, shot by Jonathan Pierrodon is released just days after. The album “Hillside West” designed and produced by Joachim Garraud and Alesia ranks directly number one in sales in iTunes (electronic music ranking) the week of its release.
The show MixMove in Paris is an opportunity for Joachim Garraud to show to the visitors an iPhone app “Frequent Clubber” addressed to club owners. In April Joachim Garraud celebrated the 20th anniversary of FG DJ Radio at the “Grand Palais” in Paris in front of over 6000 people attending a new version of the Invasion Show. “We are the future” is selected by Pioneer as a soundtrack to advertise the new brand of headphones, the HDJ-1500. Joachim Garraud produces with Pascal Lemaire aka “Skalp” the album “Dream” for the hotel chain “Hôtels & Préférence”.

In August, Joachim Garraud proposes remixes of ” Nox “, “Are U Ready” , “Space Invaders are back” and a remix of the song “Scream ” by Usher. Simultaneously, Will Bailey remixes “Hook” in moonbathon style, the track of Joachim and Alesia.
On September 4, the third edition of the Inox Park Festival was held in Paris, initiated and co-produced by Joachim. 3 Scenes, 22 DJs, 13 hours of music outdoors and 15,000 goers. Joachim Garraud and ZE ! A Singer from Kuala Lumpur, presented “I’m Invaded ” along with five remixes.
This will serve as a support for a video tutorial where Joachim explains each stage of production of the song. In October, the iPhone app changes it appearance and Joachim presents on stages all over the world “Invasion 3D ” , the new version of his show, adding images visible in relief thanks to the Space Invaders masks, incorporating filters and distributed for free.
The Asian continent is the setting for a memorable tour daily summarized by videos available on YouTube. In late November, nominated in several categories including best show and best DJ Joachim Garraud won the NRJ DJ Award for his community of fans.
2013: Wrote ” Maximus ” ( Joachim Garraud & A girl and Gun ) 9th on the ranking Yacast, the songs most played by DJs, sealing the creation of the label “Space Invader Music”. “Maximus” was released on download platforms in February, along with five remixes. Joachim Garraud and Bob Sinclar signed in February a remix of Nikki Williams “Kill, Fuck , Marry”.
In March, Joachim launch a new partnership with JD Davis “Can’t stop love” and release a track “Bring It Back ( the beat ) ” in the prestigious compilation ” Marquee ” (produced by the clubs of the same name in Las Vegas, New York and Sydney). In early April, a remix contest of the track “Grizzly Giant” by Joachim Garraud is settled . The quality of the participants was such that there was not one, but six winners! Mythical Billboard since 120 years pays tribute to Joachim Garraud and Bob Sinclar dedicating an entire article.
At the end of the month begins a Brazilian tour in the biggest clubs in the country as Green Valley in Santa Cataria (# 1 according to magazine DJ Mag, during a ceremony held while the gig of Joachim ). In May and June, the Invasion 3D show continues its journey through Austria, United States, China, Belgium and Brazil, with the opportunity to follow Joachim on a video which recounts the highlights of the Brazilian tour.
The Space Invader Music label presents Datamotion with “Let ‘s go” , an EP of 4 exclusive tracks. Another EP comes out, made by Joachim Garraud and A Girl and a Gun, where ” Maximus ” and “Ca$h” appear, each available with several remixes. During summer 2013, Joachim Garraud invaded the mainstage of Tomorrowland in Belgium and many other festivals of primary importance. It occurs in Germany, Russia, Switzerland, USA, France, Spain, etc.
New Space Invader Music launch in August 2013: “Aerospace” EP by the Belgian “Rockstarz” and a special collection with five artists discovered and produced by Joachim : Harddiction, Mehdi Dressy, Ken Roll, Guillaume Gautier and Hadoxx. September 9: Inox Park Festival, Fourth Edition, renews his success with almost 20 000 entries, 4 stages, 50 DJs of all styles, performers and still many more attractions.
The year ended with the release of the track ” MotherSpaceShip Alarm” on Ultra Music label . November 23, Joachim ignites Bercy for the 2013 edition of Starfloor organized by Fun Radio and established a record audience online with over 350,000 connections available. The transition to 2014 is made by Joachim at Tignes, with 30,000 clubbers in a free live on the snow at 2000m .
2014: From the beginning of 2014, Joachim Garraud is making talk about him signing on his label Space Invader Music, the French DJ / producer Ken Roll and his single ” Freezer ” and a few weeks later Teo Moss with ” Jump to it” . In February, wanting to thank the DJs who played massively ” MotherSpaceShip Alarm” , Joachim offers a new track “Music Maestro Please” as a free download .
“Everybody”, track made by Joachim Garraud with Perry Farrell and his wife Etty, rears its nose mid-February, it was released in March accompanied by an amazing clip tribute to sci-fi 50s. February is definitely a very prolific month for Joachim since he released two important remixes, one of John Newman with “Love me again” and one of the super-star Beyoncé and her song ” Drunk in love” which will be given on social networks .
In March, Joachim Garraud and Vassy are interested in the hit by New World Sound and review the track which became “Flute the music up .” At the same time, Space Invader Music is enriched by Datamotion and presents its EP ” Bolt” . Then comes the remix of Bastille and “Pompeii ” which will be available as a free download . In March and April Joachim Garraud participates in festivals as Lollapalooza Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Chicago.
The Space Invader Music team is still growing with Eric Mendosa and his track “Heartbeat” . In early April, Joachim takes possession of the Grand Palais in Paris for the 3rd edition of the Electro Music Festival organized by Radio FG . After “Drunk in love“, Beyoncé’s “Partition” is remixed by Joachim producing a very original remix distributed free via Soundcloud .
For the first edition of the European Fun DJ Awards held in Madrid on April 6, a special award for his entire career is awarded to Joachim Garraud . In June, Joachim releases a bomb made in Spaceship which comes out on the “Ultra” label, “Theory of everything”.
Then during the summer, Joachim was busy with more than 50 dates in major clubs and festivals of the world (Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza, Holi Festival, Pacha Ibiza, Gotha Cannes, etc.) By the end of August Joachim goes to the Nevada desert to make a set in his favorite festival: Burning Man.
In September the Festival Inox Park co-produced by Joachim, continues to grow. For its 5th version it hosts more than 22,000 goers, who came to share 5 scenes under the sounds of Electro, Edm, Bass Music, Underground, Progressive Trance with 55 DJs live during 13 hours. In November Joachim is the special guest of the NRJ DJ Awards to present an award and play @ Mics Club – Monaco.
2015: Beginning this year Joachim isolates himself in his studio to produce his new album. He gives us a little preview with the exclusive release of the track “Cut this S …” on the compilation DJ Mag Selection 01.
Starting this year comes also the release of his official soundset on “Alonso Sound” for Sylenth1. Note that in 2015 the Zemixx podcast by Joachim Garraud is still # 1 on iTunes since 2005.
